it should be covered under warranty still since it says bone stock in your sig. id do that. the more you do to it (boring it out, higher compression, etc) the less reliability youll have.
But the 416 is a good bore, lots of people on here will tell you that a nicely built 416 will keep up with a 440, with less the heat issues. it should still be pretty reliable though with preventative maintenance done.

ya it is still under warrenty but i went through 4 1/2 ft. of water and i got stuck tired to have a 650 rincon push me out when it was still running but he jus pushed me deeper under water and i had a hose with a side to the air box thingy unpluged cuz i rolled it into a pond the day before and water got rushed in from all sides and i had to ride a like 5 miles back and ya its jus ****ed up lol

I would bore it to 416 because if you F't Up or motor in 5ft of wather its not going to pass on the warentie and you will get a decent power increse go for the 416:D

I say hone that bad boy! You got the fastest stock 400ex that ever came out of the factory. I wouldn't mess with perfection. You are more likely to slow it down going to a 416.

I am guessing you would be lucky to go up 1-2 mph going to 416cc without making any other mods.

To increase your speed, you need to increase your power and then take advantage of it by modifying your gearing. Your limiting factor is going to be the RPM. Given the same size tire and gears, to go faster the engine must turn higher RPMs. At some point the rev limiter will kick in and that will be all you get.
