I was just wonderin in MX racing, do modded 300's even win races. I was told its more the rider than machine, but could the 300 have enough power to win races in the C and B classes??? Just wonderin if it would even be worth a try. Yup!

Most places have different classes, the one a 300 runs in is usually with 300's, 250xs, blasteres, warriors and mojaves and yes the 300 is very capable of winning these.
Also a really modded 300, like if you go with a top of the line 330 kit will outrun stock 400s. So, with a good rider and a really modded bike a 300 could win too. My frist few racers were on a 300, and I didnt do bad, I beat stock banshees, 400ex and 250rs on a basically stock 300ex, the guy on the 400 only had it about 2 weeks though. And it was soooo muddy my first two races no one even jumped anything, so thats why the 2-strokes didnt fair to well. I didnt win the race, but I finished like 6th and 7th I think out of 14 quads both times, so midpack my first races.
A 300 is ok if yo uare just starting out, but if you want to get into racing seriously I suggest something better like a 400ex or 250r or even an LT250r that are pretty cheap most times.

Well I can tell you this,,,a guy were I race runs a 330ex in the open 4 stroke and normally wins with it. He beats a lot of modded 400ex's ,but in his case it is a lot of rider over bike.

well performance wise NO!!! Not in less you modify the s*** out of it, but then you will be better off with a 400ex.
