z400 reliability

ive got a kfx400 and have had no probs but ive heard theyve had frame cracking problems. did they fix this for the '05 models? my friend is looking to buy an 03 or an 04 z400. has anybody had any other major problems with theirs?

the bad year was the 03, they had frame cracking problems. but that was mainly for the mx riders or guys who jump really big i think. any year above the 03 wont have these problems. mine has held up excellent for me.

i have an 04' KFX and the only thing i see is paint chipping on the top shock mounts. i need to reinforce those.

People say the frames in 04 are better than the ones in 03 but are still prone to crack. I jump 3rd and 4th gear pinned jumps all everyweek for a year and a half now and I havn't had any problems with the frame.

I am going to gusset the frame when I build the engine.
