Any Suggestions for a quiet pipe set up other than running stock?

Keeping the neighbors happy is important to me, besides the noise starts to bug me after a while, I am running the HRC tip in the stock muffler right now, I also want it to be forest approved.

Thanks for the help!

Well dont go with Sparks:p Way to loud. You would prob want a slip on if you want real quiet.

Yea, I heard Sparks was narly sounding.

I have also heard horror stories about White Brothers E- Series.

Thanks!

Anyone else?

I dont recommend the yoshi tri oval ti, either not made for noise. I do however recommend moving. Besides most noise violations within MOST city limits can not be enforced until after dark. In which case its not safe to ride anyway. Just my 2 cents

The HMF Penland series pipe is supposed to be approved for noise and you still get a power gain. I suggest looking at that.

Not to be rude or question you redline but they make that for the 450r? The stock pipe os probably the quietest you are going to get without going to the toyota 450r gas electric hybrid. Coming in 2006.

HMF has a QRS pipe (Quiet Racing Series) but they only have it for the yfz and not the R right now. Thats kinda stupid. You might call them and see when they are gettin one.

this poor guy is getting no help from us tonite. This is a fun post though. Honestly man if quiet is what you want go to Walmart get a pillow a a couple of rolls of duct(I like the camo patern myself). Then go to the neighbors house and put the pillows over there heads and wrap them securley (but safely) in duct tape, as not to the hear noise. If you repeat this a few times pretty soon they will realize you are crazy and will no longer make eye contact let alone talk to you about the quad. atleast thats how I did it.

If quiet is what you want, and still want to make power, LTE http://www.lteracing.com/ is at 93dB pulling the power gains of the loud pipes. PulseCharger is down to 96dB, and putting out about the same power.

The pulse charger with a stealth core (quiet core) is definetly NOT loud at all and does not kill the power. Its pricey but your main goal is to make good power AND be quiet so i would highly recommend that pipe. Youd be surprised at how well muffled the sound is but you have all the bottom end, lose about a horse in the mid, and actually gain a bit out on the top end than the louder race version. Its a great pulling pipe.
