86 250r fit 86 250x A-arms

Can you put 86 250r arms and shocks on a 250 x frame?

yes there the same as 400ex i have a set i'm about to put on the 300

You probably can, just like the 400 front end, but you would need a shock relocater. It is not highly reccomended though.

do it if you dont want to save your money and buy 300ex plus 2 a-arms, but i would save up and get some. Ive had this setup and compared to my burgard plus 2's and elka's it cant compare at all. And i got my whole setup off of ebay and it is awesome. I would recommend doing the 300ex setup.

Just to be nitpicky about your title, the 250X wasn't made in 86, it started in 87.
