if a 416 was put on a 400 ex would oyu have ot run race gas?
or how about a 440? race gas is a little to expensive for me and the highes ti can get aorun here is 93 .

Depends on the compression, If you stay at 11:1 or lower 93 will be fine.

if i was to stay at the stock compresion then would i be getting all that much power fomr the big bore?

It would be better than stock but if you were to get a 11:1 (which should be the same cost as stock comp) you would get your full potential with the same cost.

Im not sure that anyone even makes a big bore kit or bigger bore piston at stock compression.

wiseco has a 10:1 so with the wrong compresion ratios its about stock comp. if you get a wiseco piston make sure you run XR400 gaskets. ;)
