WITH THE QUAD LISTED IN MY SIGN OFF. WOULD A STAGE II HOTCAM BE THE WAY TO GO? AND WOULD IT MAKE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE WITHOUT HAVING A BIG BORE KIT INSTALLED, IF SO HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE.

your better off going with the stage 1, it will give you good noticable boost, but you wont lose to much on the bottom end, go for stage 2 when you get some head work, or a high comp piston

i got a 440 with standard compression and stock head would a stage 2 hotcam do good or woud it work better if i had a high compression first and head work done

Stage 1 for standard compression.

Or get all 3 at the same time. ;)

I have heard with the Stage II you will want to go with a High comp piston, that is what I did.

but if you don't want to do that, go with Stage I.

I would highly recommend a high-comp piston with any aggressive camshaft, regardless of bore size.

High compression helps power everywhere, but has more effect on low-end power. Aggressive camshafts like the Stage II boost power in the upper RPM range, but at the expense of low RPM power.

You use an aggressive camshaft to boost top-end power, and higher compression to gain back what you lost in low-end.

HOW MUCH MORE CAN I GET OUT OF A STOCK BORE. IT ALREADY HITS 69.2 ON THE GPS AND CAN PULL OFF THE GROUND IN 4TH GEAR, THE REASON I'M ASKING IS THAT THIS IS THE FIRST QUAD I HAVE OWNED AND DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH MORE I CAN GET OUT OF IT.

You could see more out of the stock bore, but most just go to the 416 piston when they add a cam.
