I had a 96 Warrior with lots of mods and it cant compare to any 400EX and the criterias you just mentiond I now have a 99 416EX amd I dont regret selling my Warrior for a 400EX;)

my friend has a warrior and i have a 400ex... they are very diffrent quads! the 400ex has way better handling and power. The warrior isnt a bad quad but the 400ex beats it on all accounts

they are 2 very different quads the 400ex beats it in every catagory. I rode a warrior for a day and didnt like it at all i'd almost rather ride a utility than that. I got the 400ex and was amazed by the the difference it handles better goes faster and has alot more low end. I do not regret getting a 400ex and getting rid of the warrior.

I raced a warrior, raptor 350 and a ltz400. I messed up the warrior and the 350 and the ltz came very close but I still one.
Get the 400ex u cant go wrong. I am only 14 and these guys are older than me.

The warrior/raptor 350 is a good sport quad for a biginner/some body not looking for speed.Got a friend who has one it didnt like to pull 6th gear. One other way I look at it is motor, Warrior=2 valve head, Ex=4 valve head.

my friend had an older warrior with tons of mods done to it and it would barely beat a stock 400ex in a straight race, warriors dont handle turning nearly as good and im not even gonna talk about trying to jump one of em compared to a 400 over all the 400 is a way better machine for everything imaginable in my opinion

The Warrior is a great quad! They last forever. Run strong in the harshest of conditions(Dust, Mud, Water=All bad for filter!)
Pretty heavy though, have a pretty decent stock suspension for what they are. Have enough power for the average trail rider. Not enough for the fast trail rider/MX racer.
Outdated, but bullet-proof 2 valve air cooled engine design.

A warrior will respond very well to a pipe, filter, and cam.

400ex is another great quad. Run great. Not too heavy, wheelie very easily and easy to ride. Have a very decent stock suspension. Have enough power for the good trail rider and average MX racer. Also outdated, but also bullet-proof 4 valve air cooled XR400 engine.

400exs also respond very nice to any kind of engine mod.

Ya, another vote for the 400. My bud has a warrior and the one thing that deterrs me away nobody has mentioned yet, They are heavy as a mofo. I guess you adjust to the weight when thats all you ride but when I hopped on it after living on a 400, it just didnt feel like something I had full control over. On top of that, if I ever lost control and had to have a wuad roll on top of me, I would much rather a 400 then a warrior.

the warrior/raptor 350 isnt a terrible quad, but imho comparing it to a 400 is pointless.

hopefully ill get to race a modded one tomorrow :D
