omg that is fricken awsome. god that thing is nice. If you don't mind me asking... How much do you got into that thing? I got a new dream quad:D if I had it though I would get rid of the hand guards and get black rings around the carbon fiber rims. But that is just my preferance btw a few questions:
1. how much was the 426 motor and conversion kit or did you do it yourself?
2. So is that the stock 400ex frame and just powdercoated?
3. where did you get the motor and conversion?
4. did you need a custom exhaust? If so who made it?
5. Have you got any mods or plan to mod it. Like bore it to 440 or anything?

06-02-2002, 04:32 PM
That is the cooled fricken quaD I HAVE EVER SEEN

06-02-2002, 04:33 PM
i would give my left testicle for that quad, but not my right(its my power nut)

ur from east coast atv right???

i saw one of ur yz426/400ex quads today at a district 5 race at pleasure valley pa... the rider was a girl named paula shanks... it was red and had east coast atv stickers on it... it looked like a really nice machine i was lookin at it and if u built that quad u did one awesome job... it looked like a very clean coversion and man did she fly on it... i think she got 2nd or 3rd...

do u have any pics of a 450f/400ex hybrid??? how much would one of those cost???

that is a stock 400 frame ,we charge 995.00 plus parts for installation.we use yz exaust off of a dirt bike, cut then reweld.that bike has a walsh radiator in it .we get the motors out of dirt bikes then sell the dirt bike chassis.we have tried a couple tc 440 motors so far .very minimal difference in power.we like using the stock 426 motors, they are very reliable.we have done 1 400 to crf 450 conversion,i think some of the pictures are on our website now.it has been powdercoated transparrent red since the pics of motor were taken.have a lot more pics of the yz but the size is just a bit too big for site.have to downsize them

A stock YZ426F puts out btween 48-49hp. The only downside to the YZ426F? DON'T STALL IT!!!! cause they are pains in the arse's to start.

I was gonna do that conversion to mine when i get the money. It is definitly sweet, but I think a CRF450 motor woiuld be a lil better, since it has more bottom end power and is way easier to start.

The only bad thing about that,if I wanted to do it? Is where I race (Hairscrambles) they make you run to your quad, then start it,and I woulkd be way behind them Elec.Start 400ex's and C-dales.

Anyways,dude it sweet.

Also,I though for the conversion it was only $800? and you supplied the Radiator, and Motor? I dunno, but I will keep in touch with ya'll when I get the cash, haha

Nausty

thats just for the parts to convert it like engine mounts and stuff. You have to get the motor.

Jividen's Powersports in Ohio. Haydug is the manager over there - PM him for more information. He is going to be selling two of those 520 KTM quads (what he told me anyway).

Hey guys you know more about my bike than I do!! (KTM)
It is a 450 by the way, 6 speed and electro start, haha. I also can't wait to see it!! When I visited ECA with my friend, we could barley stop druling, they build the cleanest bikes I have ever seen!!! Hope it will be finished by May 3..... eca400 put in a good word for me. What is your name anyway?? Matt??

I think I might do that conversion someday... lol But by the time I pay off this quad (from parents) The new Honda quad will be out, and if its good I am just going to get that. It actually seems better to do a 426/450 conversion then building up the 400ex motor. Cause Forum's 426 sure flys.. If I am not mistaking it smokes the 440ex's.

Thomas will be running the ktm 450 but i haven't seen him at the races yet...

But forums 426 will eat 440ex, he smoked a z450 until he blow it in a corner and went wide coming into the whoop section.. you can't understand how much more storque and snap this thing has over a 400ex, it is just unbelievable...

bro. You gotta stop saying im gonna take the win and all this or anyone else for that matter. Im really not that good. And the bike means nothing. I could have thomauses quad and bank could have a virtualy stock Ex and Whoop my a$s! Big TIME! like real big time! THe bike is realy only 5% and thats not an underestimated. ITs the truth. You need to look at the riders finishes and watch them at the races to realy judge future finishes. Even that doesn't always work. I've been surprised by a few kids this year.

In my opinion Bank will take the national championship this year unless he brakes his atv big time or himself. Hes just got natural talent. There are a few others like that too. But none of them are as consistant as James.

I never said that you might actually win in the pro class...(no offense, you are good)... you are good man, your fast, i am just saying, that the z 450 you had in both motos and you messed up, **** happens you now... you can't always ride a perfect race... i got both motos on tape and saw were you got passed becuase of this and this... you damn good for the first time racing pro...

Has anyone riden a YZF 450?? i talked to eca and they said they offer yzf 450 kits, not 426 becuase yamaha stop making them... so i am thinking about getting that engine over the 426, becuase it might be cheapier, (not to sure yet, i haven't got a price yet)...
Does the yzf 450 require you to have a oil tank like the 426?? i like to have a oil tank becuase the oil will last longer, engine parts will be cleaner, and the oil will stay cooler...

thanks
