Just thought I would get some opinions.

I am gonna finance a new/used car and was trying to get opinions because I am totally clueless on what I want.

Here are some things that are important.

1. price- 10/15,000
2.gas - not super important cause I don't drive that many miles but that sh*t is expensive

some cars I like in my price range:
1999 lincoln ls
2001 mitsu. galant
2005 scion tc

trucks are a possibility too:
2000 silverado 2wd
1999 tacoma 4wd

poss. even a 4runner or pathfinder

any input would be appreciated

The new Saturns, Honda Civic, Nissan Skyline?

BLAZE1
07-25-2005, 03:23 PM
The new skylines are bad@ss but I think they are a little expensive. I would say $18,000 is my limit. Some of the other nissans look nice but there are so many damn diff kinds of cars I need to do some research. I know the day I buy my car I am gonna find a nicer/faster/better one for cheaper

Will you g/f let you get a crotch rocket? Now those are fast things

BLAZE1

HaHA! got one of those.

That's why I am car shopping.

I sold my car in Jan. to buy a bike and a quad. Got a Z and a 1996 F3. Now I am in the market for a car before the weather gets rough.

Oh I see. But whatever you do do not get a Dodge Neon. Get the new 2005 Saturn

BLAZE1
07-25-2005, 03:37 PM
I would never get a neon but whats up with the saturns. I used to hate saturn but in the past couple of years they are looking a little more appealing. Same with Kia three years ago if you said Kia I almost threw up. Just the other day I say one that looked like a Jag???WTF?

out of you choices i would either get a scion or the yota. they are both reliable and will last you along time if you want to keep them long. Right now im driving a 01 eclipse. 00-05 eclipse's you can find in the 8-15k range just stay away from the gs/rs. Also keep your eye out for Audi S4 00-01 you may get lucky and find one in the 18k range

here are a few pics just freshly lowered

first of all, do you have a truck to haul your bike around? Watching cars tow trailers is funny. I would get a 4wd truck for the bad waeather... snow and etc. Depending where you like. GMs are hard to beat. We have 4 chevys and they all rock. I would say something cheaper but good on gas, and looks good with mods and can haul a quad. 4wd chevy colorado. Pretty good power, good looks, makes a sweet mini truck like the s-10s that they replaced, and would be good for all conditions of driving. That 5 cylinder moves pretty good. I have had a chance to drive one and they have more power on tap than our 94 2wd s-10 and my 97 4wd s-10 blazer. Take a look at em.:)

yea i hate that ground hog. we shoot every ground hog around where i live. and i live right out of punxsy. we shoot them all because the make a ton of holes in our yards and feilds. and they mostly won't stop diging holes. i know up on my grandpas farm last year we shoot 37 i think and there are a lot more this year again. hahah

get one of the 99-02 f250s. those are really nice trucks well within youre price rage as well. what ever you do thought dont get anything but the 7.3 if u go with the oil burner. the 6.0s had lloottss of problems. the 7.3 went 10 years or so in the old body style and NEVER had a problem as much as the new ones have. the triton v10 isnt that bad...but if i had 2 sitting infront of me one gas and one diesel id DEFF take the oil burner! with the bike and the quad you gotta have something to haul em around with. out of what you listed thought, id say the scion is the best choice. they look good and preform fairly well too. but in the end i guess it all comes down to waht you really want. go drive them all look them over from top to bottom learn everything u can about them and figure out which will better suit youre needs. good luck in the hunt boss man

All my riding buddies have trucks and so does my brother and my stepdad. So if I need to haul something I think I got it covered. I don't really want a 4wd cause I'll hardly ever use it and I don't wanna pay the extra in gas/insurance/price of vehicle if I don't use it. Plus I live in California not Conn. (no offence to those connecticutians) don't really need it. If I did get a 4wd I'd get like a 99' yota.

Thank you guys (and girls if ther were any) for all your input.
Car shopping is hard. My first couple of cars I just got what I could afford. Now that I can actually afford a nice car there seem to be so many choices.

I've been test driving vehicles for like three days now.

Btw What the f*ck is that skinned corpse lookin thing. I know y'all like trucks and everything but c'mon.

I think thats a little out of his price range LOL.
That has to be the ugliest DB9 I have ever seen. Personaly I like the Vanquish looks better, but the DB9 is a easier package to handle, and is a tad quieter in the cockpit.

I would get the toyota tacoma. They are a pretty good truck.

I am looking for a picture of a truck that someone on this site owns (or used to own, I think he might have sold it??)

It is a 1999+ white chevy silverado 1/2 ton

If you own one or have a pic of one on ur computer copuld you please post it.

*edit* I've been using the search feature for two days with no luck, so any help would be appreciated.

get a truck. a chevy silverado Z71 ext. cab. around 98-01. believe me you won't regret it. i love mine i got about a week ago and its a 2002. i would get pics up but my sister has the digi cam at her house. mine was $17,000 and it came with subwoofers, tinted windows, 8 in. lift kit (that alone costs 6500), 35" tires, chrome rims. it came loaded. so i know you can find a fairly used around 2000 model in your price range. i will get pics up ASAP. happy truck hunting :D

Thanks. Every thread is better with pics.

I am pretty sure I am getting a 99-02 chevy/gmc but I am undecided if I want a sierra or a silverado. Also I am still not sure on the 2wd vs. 4wd idea.

I know most of you guys will say 4wd but I don't go "off-road" that much and you can't tell me this isn't a nice truck

its bagged. look at the camber on the front wheels. lowering kits fix that bags make it worse. i feel about the same as you do with bagging something but that blue or green (idr) RAM that was on xtreme offroad a while back was pretty freakin bad arse!!

A vehicle that has an airbag suspension.

BLAZE1
07-28-2005, 09:37 AM
I don't think I would bag it. I would go pretty low though like a 5/7 drop.

The only advantage I can see to air bags is being able to load the bed then just air it up if its riding too low.

I think if I just get a high quality lowering kit (i.e. hotchkins) it would be able to support the extra 400lbs when I'm haulin my quad.
