310 kit?

someone i know is selling an LA Sleeve non powe valve 310 kit that is still on its first bore.
right now im running a stock cylinder with some porting and a 36mm kehein carb.

he's selling it with the head, cylinder and a mikuni carb.

i will be using this set up for xc racing.would i be able to keep the 36mm carb or would i need to run the bigger mikuni?is the mikuni a good carb?im trying to save on fuel stop's.

would this be a good setup to use in the woods?

The 36mm carb should be ok for trail riding, but the big question is the porting on the 310. If its MX porting which is low to middle porting would work great for woods/trails.
