Ok, I was riding yesterday and I noticed my clutch slipping a little in the upper gears (4th and 5th). Believe it or not, its a stock clutch from 1998! I called the past owner and he said he never changed the plates and neither did the guy before him because he only owned it for 6 months. So I am just wondering what kind of plates to buy. I don't think the basket will need replaced so I'm goign to leave it stock.

Oh, and while I'm taking that stuff off to change the clutch, do you think I should take off the valve cover too and change the timing chain also. I have a DID laying around that I never put in, and the one in it now is stock

Didn't know that hinson even made a clutch kit for the 300. I've always been told it's better to use a stock Honda replacement kit, and throw in some heavy duty springs. That's what I use, and it works out pretty well.

I've got FST HD springs already, but I'm not sure about the plates yet.

What about the timing chain?? anyone have input on that?
