2003 Honda CRF450 4-sale or trade

I have a 2003 Honda CRF450 4-sale. I bought it, knowing it needed a head. I put a head on there with a fresh valve job. It started up on the 2nd kick, it ran, died, ran, died, ran, died for about 30 sec. Then it was extremly hard to kick. My guess would be a new piston. No matter what, invest a few hundred, and you would have a 3500-4000 bike. I just dont have time to mess with it, with my yfz projects. 2500 obo. My also consider trades for 4-wheelers or a jet ski. man that sucks....I had the same thing happen to me with my YZ426...ended up putting a new motor in mine as well and then selling it....good luck i'm sure for that Price it will be gone ASAP!

Im not parting it out, nor do I have any plans of evr parting it out. If it doesnt sell, I will pull the motor apart, figure out whats wrong with it, fix it, and sell it on e-bay.

did you have a new piston put in it in the first place? if so is it higher comp? if it is this engine is going to take quite a kick to start.. if this is the case, make sure your timing is correct and your valves are seating properly, also check your carburator, sounds like its not getting enough fuel or not getting it at the proper time,,, if the piston or even the rings are new, or if they arent but still were in decent shape, this engine should fire,,, if it runs for 30 seconds, itll run, you just have to make sure everythings adjusted correctly. check the carburator first, do some tuning on it, then go to the timing and make sure its correct, also check out the valves while you in there.

I don't have an email account that works. I can try and get pics up here real soon. Mods are a T4 exhaust system, AC propegs, fly 909 bars, AC bumper and a few other things. Im looking into getting the bike primarily for the motor as a back up for my CRF hybrid. Tranny in good condition? Bottom end? What all does it need to run well?
