I have already ordered a Web 450/451 camshaft for my bike wanting more midrange power. I barely ever use high rpm and after reading through this forum a web 479 seems to have more bottom-mid power than a 450/451. Is their a big diff between the two in terms of bottom/midrange power? Also do you need to get shorter valve guides and HD valve springs for the 479?
Any help would be appreciated.

Well,I cant say on the web 479 cam because I have never ridden a quad with one but I do have the 450/451 in my 416 and it rips.It feels to me like it has better bottom end than a stocker but the midrange/upper is where it really shines.I have a JE 12:1 piston in there and the combination pulls really hard from bottom to top.I don't think you will be dissappointed.

479 makes more everywhere! but needs spring kit! Hotcam stage1 within .5 mm lift and uses stock springs!

im running a 450/451 in my stroker and it makes all the power up to maybe 7000 rpm then starts to fall off. im going 463/9i due to more dune riding and i need it to rev more. but my bike is a monster with that cam.
