i would get the warpdrive temperature dipstick. this will tell you what temperature you are at and it is part of the dipstick so it is easy and convenient.

C+D racing sells a dipstick with a temp. guage, so you could contact them if you like. I been using it for about a year now and find it to be pretty valuable

well I put one on my 500ex...just got a car oil temps guage...the smalest one I could fine...got a nut welded on my oil tank for the probe...and I have the guage on my bar mount... easier to check then a dipstick...works great for 20$

this one that C&D sells (the warpdrive) does go into your oil tank. it is a replacement dipstick with a thermometer in it to tell you the temperature of your oil

damn good idea 440ex i was thinking the same thing but with an autometer guage... go you have a pic on where you welded the to nut and threaded in to the tank... also what color did you paint it.. i was thinking orange or yellow... is the oil in the oil tank the "just cooled oil" from the radiator??? thanks all for input

I painted my frame audi TT orange..but it looks more yellow then orange to me...the oil in the tank is coming right from the oil cooler ( stock ) but it's the same oil that is going in the motor so you can still get a good reading for the temp.
here are a couple pics of the fitting we made ( a aluminum nut would work to ). And the guage it self...nice and easy to see, you don't have to stop and look like the dip stick one...can't go wrong for 20$ right lol.

:D yeah I know no one likes my levers lol...I like the feel... it's easier when you ride standing up...I can'T stand levers that are straight with the bar...when you ride standing up you have to like break your wrist to use them.

I got the warpdrive one and it only lasted 3 rides...it is stuck on 240..I would not by another one. but some have had theirs for a while. maybe I got a bunk one. I have been thinking of welding a collar to my oil tank and using an auto type also. you could also tap it into your lighting system so you could still see it at night.
