My 426 runs pretty good...but, it sometime takes a while to start. Everytime I start it, I have to pump the gas a little bit...before, it used to start without any gas....what wrong here? Like I said though, once it starts, it runs pretty good.
Do I need a bigger pilot jet? I think there is a 40 in there right now..
Thanks

get the 40 out of there and put in a 42 pilot jet. its common that before you start it (when its cold) you pump the throttle 3 times to sprays some fuel in. after it starts feather the throttle for about 15-20 seconds and let off it should idle.
If you're running the stock battery I'd reccomend a much larger one. Stock is about 120 cca, mine was in the 300 range. I could fire it up in gear with the clutch out.
If you have a high rev box it may take a little more to start them also.

toss that 40 and go to a 42 pilot

also if your battery is getting weak it may not be cranking that BIG piston fast enough to fire right up on 1st crank
