Yeah there is alittle drag strip on the left side on the intermediate track. I'de like to drag chad's 550r:D ;) :eek2: I'll be up there sometime around noon. It has a steady light rain in central Pennsylvania were I live. Hopefully the conditions aren't horrible at Rausch. I'm sure Rausch really needs rain. I'de rather have it alitte muddy then a have a dust ball for the weekend.

It is raining this morning at Rausch Creek, and it should be over within the hour. The rest of the weekend looks perfect with temps in the 80's and only a 40% chance of scattered showers Saturday Night, which isn't a bad thing.
The rain today will actually make the ride this weekend even better because it won't be dusty, so I am thankful for the rain today.

Also, the thing i love about rausch creek is that their track is designed so well. Almost every time im there it rains and ive never had there be puddles on the tracks except for the woods sections because its designed so well for all the water to drain right off. Im sure it will be fine but i would recomend that everybody who can brings some of those ex-ups tent things. Last few times we only had 1 or 2 so everyone would be crowded under them.

Just got back from Rausch. The track was awful today, but started getting better towards later day. There was about 3 inches of mud the entire way around the track. The expert track was the best, you could just about hit every jump without the mud shooting you out of line. The intermediate track was okay out front, but out back was terrible. There wasn't that many people there today. I am sure you guys will have a good day tomorrow with more people there and no rain. They were working constantly on the track. Have fun guys...hopefully I will be able to make it up saturday afternoon or sunday.

TheFontMaster
08-20-2005, 09:27 PM
Well I just got back, 11 at night. I got there friday night around 8:30, and meet up with josh, Tommy and some other people. I got there just as they were starting to run the 550r on the mobile dyno, and I just about went deaf from standing next to that thing as it was revd out. Saterday morning is when people started to show up. I spent most of the morning working on the 250r, I would like to thank eveyone that helped me with that. We got the motor started, but I was missing some small stuff so I couldn't ride it. I mostly hung out and watched everyone ride, once afternoon rolled around I ended up renting a 250ex for a couple hours, and put in about 8 or 9 laps on the intermediate track then went on some trails for a while. The weather today was perfect, partly cloudy, no rain, and the track was awsome.

friday was horrible with mud, I literally had to whine my bike out and stand on my seat to make it up the hills on the back section!
Saturday was perfect! Kinda pissed I cant ride sunday but I'm actually glad because I'm in a world of pain lol I doubt I'm working on monday, I pulled my bicep atleast 4 times in the same corner, then pulled a hamstring 2 times, I rode from friday 11am-6pm then saturday 11am-8pm I only came back for gas lol..

I had a blast. It had been almost 5 weeks since I rode, but I got the quad back together Friday night and made it up to Rausch Saturday around 10:30. Mostly rode the woods but was out on the intermediate track a little. Also rode that one track at the end of the parking lot. It had no jumps but you could top the quad out in a few places. I saw MxJunkie tearing it up out there (I was on a black R with a blue frame). All in all I had a good time and the R was looking sweet (thanks Pappy!)

mxjunkie, thanks for the 550 cudos. You shoud have asked to ride it. I would have let ya.
This trip was absolutely perfect for me and my friend Jim (aka TURBO-530R). We both had the best time finally meeting and shaking hands with everyone. Everyone we met was happy and smiling. No angry ppl the whole weekend. It was great!
We arrived friday evening and was the first to setup in the reserved ATVRIDERS.com flagged off area. We positioned the dyno, tent, canopy(s), generators and rigs in position and unloaded the beer, quads, and fuel and started the fun. By midnight Friday, we wrapped up getting the 550 dialed in on the dyno. I wasn't able to degree my cam on the dyno this round of testing, but still pulled 2 hp more and 2 ft/lbs of torque and 4 smaller jets overall than my ol' 530R. Anyway, I think Harlen and crew showed up about 2am with thier BIG RIGS and trailers- woke up the whole parking lot with the "ROLLING THUNDER" arrival (just kiddn' here). By 3 hours later, we were all up and waiting for the fog and dew to lift of spirits. We fired up for breakfast, fired up the dyno, dressed for riding and waited a bit for the near perfect riding conditions on the track.
Towards the evening as things died down a bit, Pappy was behind the scenes spending most of the day preparing for the FEAST. I have to say his cook'n rocked! Everyone I saw went for at least seconds on the smorgishborg (sp) of tastfullness. Thanks Pappy for your entire effort. Everyone really enjoyed the food.
One thing I was a little disappointed with was Harlen hadn't let me tear his ride up on the track. :( just kiddn'.
Harlen, thanks for the awesome weekend with you, your family, your crew and friends and the awesome ppl who frequent your site.

Chad, I was going to run mine on the dyno but we had to leave and I ran out of money lol, I would of loved to take yours out in the parking lot for a little and let you ride mine for a little feedback, Your motor sounds healthy as anything, we were pitted at the top of the parking lot probaly 200-250 yards away and it sounded like it was right next to us on the dyno.
maybe we'll met up sometime and go trail riding out in shamokin or maybe even rausch again! :macho

well, next time i come up to ride shamokin next month ill let you and killabanshee know in advanced so we can hook up and roost across the mountaintop :macho
Thanks for the comments on the way it sounded. I love the bark it has too. I was very pleased with the 550 performance this weekend considering the engine had only 10minutes of runtime before the trip with no cam timing tuning at all.
Let's hook up next month in PA for one saturday, ok?

you are the guys with the dyno machine, lol i never new that.
im the guy who had the blue and white crf conversion that you guys dyno'd for me.it was running WAY rich.
i thought it had a 160 main in it but it was a 170. i washed it this morning and put a 162 main in it and canged the needle clip.the crf carb has 7 slots and it was on #6 downVERY rich, so i moved it to #4 down and it seems to have much better throttle responce.member when you were trying to test it, it would stall if you nailed the gas too hard?well i think changing the clip position fixed that.
thanks for the help.see yea at the next ride.

I'm TIRED... We pulled the last bike off the Dyno at 11:30pm and packed up. I had a 3.5 hour drive back to VA and had to be at another job at 6:00am . :eek2: I did make it home in time to get a shower though:D
I had a blast meeting everyone and getting their bikes dialed in. I help alot of people on jetting and everyone gained Hp, Tq, Throttle responce, Extra RPM's, found problems they didn't even know they had, (2nd to last bike on dyno had an airbox drain tube and some of the airbox filled with K&N FILTER OIL :huh Who did that..post the pics) ect. that put their bikes on the Dyno.
Pappy did an Awesome job on the grill:). 450r looks Sweet
:D Pappy, you can tell me the truth, What else is in your 450r? lolj/k
We even got his son's 90 dialed in.
Thanks Chad550r and Turbo-530r for the help and food and drinks... You guys are a blast to hang out with.

Harlen, Thanks for having me at your event. It was Awesome. Can't wait til next year.

dynos are only as good as the knuckleheads who program them, my idea of giving someone a dyno test used to be letting them eat my roost:eek2:
ill never forget the day some dumb freockkers followed my into the sewer runoff trails. ;)

Hey Turbo-530r. Thanks for letting me take a rip on your quad. That takes alot of trust. I can't even imagine how much the turbo adds. Chad said it almost doubled the horsepower. Thats insane. Good luck at the drags!
