Rear 450R shock???

I currently have ordered new ELka rec's for my 400 on the front, but don't have the $$$ for the rear. I will be fine I am sure with my stock rear setup for a while, but a friend of mine has a brand new stock 450 rear he would sell me cheap. Is it going to help me at all to put his shock on my quad with the adjustment and rezzy? I run a lot of woods, and now GNCC....

Your stock 400ex already has the same adjustments as the 450R shock. Plus, the valving will not be correct if you switch it to other shock. I would suggest a Linkage and a revalve and you will have a 5 times better shock when your done. I will almost bet that you won't end up buying a rear aftermarket shock if you get this done because you'll like it so much!
