rebuild cam?

is there any way you can build up the lobe on a cam because i bought a mojave from my friend and the exhaust cam is damn near round and i was hoping maybe a welding shop would be able to weld on it and grind it to specs. is this possible or should i just get a new cam?

i thought so too but where can i get them im not sure if there is a kawi dealer around here

get a hotcam or a web cam if you can afford to harden your rockers

It's very possible to weld them up, this is exactly how WebCams does their camshafts. They take a stock cam, grind it down, weld on it, and then grind it again to a new profile.

However, this requires specialty equipment, and is NOT something your local welding shop can do, or even a machine shop. Really, the only people that can do this are dedicated camshaft shops, and they won't fix your cam for you, they'll just sell you a new cam.

So, it's possible, it's just not possible for YOU do to. You're going to need to buy a new cam.
