i recently put new rings in my ex. i put it all back together and set the timming. i made sure the it was at TDC and the 2 lines parrell and the one line pointing up. did i miss somthing it still seems like the timming is off. it will fire then crank for awhile and then fire then crank for a while, and so on. can anybody help please.

Did you line the marks up AFTER installing the cam chain tensioner? Also you had the cam lobes pointing down I'm assuming??? Is your cam chain stretched at all?
yes i did it after i installed the cam chain tensioner, it was running just fine before i took it apart so i don't think the chain is stretch, it just seems like its always a little off. i can't get it to align perfectly

Probably lost the plunger for the automatic decompressor! check that first!
can u describe what it looks like, i don't have a book i just order one and it won't be in for 3-4 days. and help would be appriciated.

Go there number 4 and 5 you need to check and see if you have them,also make sure your lobes are down when you reassemble at TDC.
yes the lobes are down and i was missing the decompresion plunger. i ordered them and they should be here soon. how do i install the plunger? does it just sit in their? is thier anyway i have to align the decompresion on the cam?

All that you have got to do is put the plunger spring in,then the plunger itself,Last reassemble,and it should run fine.
