the carbuerator is a big part. the crf has a FCR carb. The 450r does not.

the crf has a diff stroke than the trx, a diff piston than the trx, and the ignition is diff on the dirt bike; hotter cdi lighter flywheel, diff head, titanium valves, intake or ex or bigger don't know which they are very different animals

I would use the bike engine simple because of performance reasons, and you can get a used on cheap. They will require more maintenince because of the Titanium valve train, and the transmission is designed for something half the weight of an ATV.

The differences are

Crank
piston / rings
valves
cam profile
main bearings
tranmission
cases
ignition
carb
cylinder
head
backward kick
stator cover
and about 100 other things

It is a possibility the motor mounts may be in different locations also.

Dont put a CRF motor in a TRX, when you can make the TRX motor a CRF motor..The CRF motor will not hold up to pulling around the extra weight.

a guy i know is selling a crf450 motor in a 250r afermarket frame with long travel elka suspension. it need some work like the frame is broke in 1 spot and craked that i seen in 2 spots the motor is knoking when it ideling. but the motor is not mounted in very tight either. at the top of the motor there is a motor mount that is not mounted and the two mounts at the bottom of the motor just have brackets bolted to the frame where the original mounts are. i personaly dont like that but it might be ok?!?!?!? i want to buy it but not to sure if it will be worth it ... it is extreamly fast!!!!! what do you guys think??????

sounds like a piece of junk, that will be a bunch of hassles, buy your self a darn TRX and build it from there.

You think the initial cost may be higher, but until that Junk box nickel and dimes you to death, you will have more wasted trips to the track with DNFs, headaches and repair bills than you could have imagined.
