I got a new DID Cam Chain, It looks great!! but the pads on the chain tensioner are narrower than the new chain due to the new chain being a link wider on each side. Will this hurt anything ( I think it will) and where can I get wider pads or can you??

yeah the crf chain is wider then a EX chain an I have a CRF chain in my EX...it`s wider then the guide and I never had any problems...it will just wear it out till it fits right don`t worry about it...they made the chain for that bike so it should work.

and you can`t buy wider guides

CRF cam chain is a great mod and works with no problems. Installed one on the last rebuild and it went together just as easily as with the stocker....

Calm down my god, why are people on here are so uptight. Well anyways I went and lined up the chain with the plastic guides in the engine and it will not fit in the guides correctly, you guys are right it will wear itself a nice spot, it will just put plastic shavings in the engine which if you change your oil early wont be a big deal i guess. I am still debating the idea but I'm not for sure to use it or not so I was seeing if anyone esle had anymore insight besides the few that have posted, and one of my freinds couldn't find the article so I boosted it up to make it easier.

ok well, alot of people did this and no one had any trouble so far...use the search...and you will find all the proof you need.

And don/t even worry about the plastic it will take for ever to wear it down...and the little peice will not hurt your motor..it's not like metal , plastic is soft.
