Is it true that alot of quads get stolen there...I was planning a trip up there with a couple friends who will be back from Iraq and was wondering if this myth is true.

Not true, but anything could happen if you are not safe with you stuff. Oliver

There are bikes stolen from there occasionally. If you are going to stay overnight, just use common sense. Pull the key (if it has one), use a cable/padlock at night to keep the bike secured in camp. Just use common sense...

My crew goes up there all the time and if you lock your stuff up and dont leave it where someone can steal it, it will be fine.

Ya just use common sense, I tend to park next to other quad guys like at the hotels and stuff.

It's no different than any other place. If you leave it optionable to be stolen, it's always possible. But as long as I've been going, I've never seen or heard of anything being stolen...we'll unless you count the few coolers I've raided...:)

Out of all of the years I've been going to the Little Sahara, I've heard of only one bike being stolen.

However, my group made the mistake of leaving our helmets and stuff hanging on our bikes one night. We came out the next morning to find all of the helmets, gloves and goggles had been stolen. They his several other campsites as well. People lost all kinds of stuff that was left sitting out.

If it wasn't for the guys at LSPS, we would have been screwed. Luckily, they hooked us up with new gear to ride with.

What really sucked is that about 6-8 months later, my brother saw his old helmet, on someone elses head, riding through camp. It was a unique helmet. It couldn't have been mistaken for any other. The scrathches and stickers were a perfect match. Of course, by this time there wasn't anything we could do. He couldn't prove it was his so we had to just let it go. sumbiches...

Needless to say, we lock everything up or put it in the tent with us at night now.

Some people are just scummy that way I guess. I wish I could have caught the guys and spent a few hours dragging them through the rocky campgrounds behind my quad.
