ok, i went to the honda dealer looking to buy a new 450r. i planned on trading my quad in on it. so i waited a while and got the figures on the price. the msrp was around $6600. he said with the trade in the diference would be $5300. i was like....im not even gonna think about that, way to high. so after about an hour i got him down to $4300 difference. the most i would pay difference is $3750, so he said he will call me if he can work it out.....my quad is in my sig. some things wrong with it are 2 minor cracks in the plasic and the head gasket leaks some oil. i had a mechanic look at the head gasket and he said it was ok.............what do you guys think a fair difference price would be/what the most difference price i should pay is?

PS my engine just got rebuilt this winter

Give a week or two, then keep calling. If they want a deal to be done, he will give it to you. One way to know if they will go lower is to see how much they will lower the price from the original, In your case, it was 5300, to 4300, in only an hour. I know you can make the deal you want to.

there offer of 2300 trade in is right on. trade in value on that quad is 2275.00. take all your aftermarket parts off, sell them, or if they will fit the new quad save them.
they are asking to much for there new quad. dealer cost is like 5500.00. they should be selling there quad for like 5700.00.
so if they will trade you for llike 3400.00 you would be getting real money for your quad.
it is all a big numbers game with the dealer.
