Do most components such as Shocks, a-arms,axel,wheels, swingarm, and steering stem switch from a 400ex to a 450r

if u are more familiar with the 400ex you will take comfort to the R in no time. the axle does fit but it needs the 450R sprocket hub, a-arms do not fit, shocks are usually interchangable. wheels will fit steering stem wont either will a swingarm without modification. I also have a full set of American racer tires on rims if you are interested

i thought that the yfz was easier to switch to from a 400ex than an R. maybe cause i'm shorter......5'6" :ermm: the first time i rode a yfz i was surprised how fast i got used to it. within like 2 laps i was jumpin all the stuff i was on the ex. this was the main reason i got the yfz. and i like the powerband of the yfz, and i like the looks more

on the other hand, i thought the 450r felt really wierd, but maybe it had something to do with the one i ride.

just ride both of them, preferribly ones with pretty much the same mods. cause it wouldn't be fair to ride a really nice one vs. a mainly stock one.

and a side note.....i don't expect you'll get many yfz votes in the 450r section :p

I don't think the hybrid are worth doing. The newer frames have better geometry, and you can upgrade the engine. A hybrid will cost you much more than selling your 400, and getting the 450.
