Im switchin from K&N sh*t to uni, and i cant tell, but does this come ready to bolt on? Like, does it come ready to just slide in, and use the stock metal ring to tighten it down?

i use the UNI oil, which is great and easy to put on and use PJ1 foam filter cleaner and its AMAZING!. You just spray the stuff on, let it sit for 10-15 mins and spray it off with a hose. SHBAM its done!:D

You'll have to cut the two plastic tabs off in the bottom of your airbox as the uni filter is a couple of inches longer than stock (or K&N).

How did you install your's then? On mine the filter would have been resting right on top of the tabs causing it to sit crooked.

Also, where in Ontario are you from?

Pretty well directly across the lake from Toronto, between St. Catherines and Hamilton.

Well, what about your filter? You've got me wondering if I cut something I didn't need to.

I use kerosene to clean my filter then Bel-ray filter oil. Still haven't seen a spec of dust in the intake. And I ride in some really dusty conditions.

Kerosene is fine, don't use gas! Yeah it works but breaks down the foam. After the solvent has cut the dirt and oil you may clean the solvent out with warm water and a couple drops of dishwashing soap. Squeeze water out - gently.

Let it air dry don't blast it with your compressor hose.

Okay, now toss it into a large zip lock bag with an ounce of your favorite foam filter oil. Squish and roll to saturate.

Put on your rubber gloves or put a baggie over your hand and gently squeeze out excess running oil from the filter. Do not wring just compress. Seal up the filter bag for next time.

Now your ready to scare people with your sticky hands 'cause no matter what you do they will get oiled.

You can use that, but you should still knead the oil into the foam. FWIW, that stuff is pretty spendy. I can get a quart of Bel-Ray filter oil for like $6. And it lasts a long dam time. The Uni will come with every thing you need to put in on and ride. New clamp, insert, and of course the filter. As far as the cleaner, I use kerosene to clean it, then gently wring it dry, and re-oil it.
