my winter project proposal

I have heard some ppl put 400 carbs on their 300exs how do thhey work, how 2 modify the adapter piece, and any jettingg required for the carb if you have a pipe and filter and plan 2 get a header (i haven't got a carb yet)
this winter i plan adding a few things such as a lsr or rpm axle, a header, another set of tires and maybe a set of used factory honda wheels cause its cheaper then buyin after market 1s plus unless theey are hipers or beadlock they don't last i find cause my itps are getting bad
and j/w what else should i do i'll probly be on a budget i plan 2 keep my motor interaly stock at the moment since i ride everyday non stop in just about any condition unless its thunder and lightning out hail or snowing since i have a sled

sorry i dont know the answer to your question, but are those 300 shocks on 400 a-arms, it doesnt look like you got a relocator, btw, before you get the carb off a 400 i would recomend getting an airboot from a 350x;)

i use to have a 400 electron carb on my 250x and it ripped holehot machine but it wouldnt idle and it was hard to start when u stalled it. took it off after it cost me some races.

no he has 400 shocks on 300 a-arms and cut and rewelded mounts for them so now he can use 400 shocks any time

well seein how 250xs have a kickstart and no hot start lever makes it hard 2 start when they get hot and did you set set ur air fuel mixture and idle screw properly

i talked to the kid at high point who ran my quad last year and he said they couldnt get it to idle either

ic just some1 was tellin they did it to his buddys 300 since he got 450 carb 4 his 500ex and it worked amazing never mentione idling problems o well
like i was thinkin about gettin a anitfade posi locknut but i'll stick 2 thread locker and a lil duct tape or no duct tape i'm gonna get a custom graphics kit so i don't scratch, mark up my fenders anymore plus keep them from fading i wash my ex 1ce or twice a week

make sure the carb you get isnt too big, then you will actualy loose power from not haveing a fast enough air velocity ;)

i did this and it ran like **** and first but my buddy dad adjusted the fuel air ratio and it ran like a champion i couldn't ask any better... some thing i did... the 300ex intake boot is to small so ull need to get a 400ex intake boot and you will need to adjust your carb... the rear end of the 400 intake is a little small for the air but with a little muscle you can get in on the i suggest competely unscrewing the clamp and simple as that you got it probably the cheapest best mod for a 300ex... im now running a 350x motor

i ran a 400ex carb on my 330 with big valves, header, 11.5:1 piston, etc. It ran great. 162 main jet.
