I heard many times about lead additive in your gas. Makes it run cooler.

I told the guy at the bike shop and he said, its only for 2 strokes. Using it on a 4-stroke will hurt the valves.

Anyone know about this?>

I see that you have a 440 kit, but with only a 10:1 piston. You may not even need leaded race fuel. I would call the makers of your piston and ask them before spending five bucks a gallon on race gas.

Its a lead additive that cost 3 dollars and is enought for like 200 gallons.

Ya he said it was good for old cars and such, leaded fuel is what was used.

But it hurts modern valves he was saying. Only good on 2 strokes.

I'm not saying hes right. I don't have a clue if he is. Just thats what he said and I'm wondering if he is right.:square

I'm not positive, but I don't think it will hurt the valves. Unleaded gas will damage older valves (real old valves, it'll make them burn), and lead will damage a cat, but since you don't have a cat(catalitic converter), you can't damage it. If it's only 3 bicks for enough to treat 200 some odd gallons, i'd say give it a go.

I think that'll do a little more than mere damage to a cat...
