my hmf slip-on is on it's way on my 2004 400ex, and I just changed the jetting today before it arrives. I threw in a 165 main (dynojet) and on the clip (dynojet) I'm at 3rd from the bottom. Fuel screw is now also at 3 turns also.

The motor is 100% stock (indluding air box with the lid on ) except for a uni-filter. Also I live in st. louis, so the elevation is....somewhere above see level. And of course, the weather here is always hot and humid.

Does the jetting sound close? I've tuned 1/8 rc cars for years, but never touched a thumper carb until now so let me know if I'm close-thanks!!

sounds good. with an hmf slip on, k&n airfilter and stock airbox w/lid i ran a 155 mj, clip in 2nd position from bottom, and 2 1/2 turns out on a 42 pilot jet. altitude is about sea level for me

also, when everyone refers to a jet size-are they reffering to a dynojet or kehihn(sp) number ..thantks

i would go smaller on the main jet one to two sizes and raise the needle clip one position. fuel screw sounds fairly close with the stock 38 pilot jet.
