hub and axle splines r stripped help

I just bought a 2001 400ex and found out later when I was messing with it that the rear left hub and axle splines are stripped on both of them. Im suppose to go riding next weekend and need a quick fix till I can find another axle. Any suggestions? Theres a few machine shops around. Is there anything they can do besides weld it together? Maybe key it or something like that

it would take a lot of work. I broke an axle on one monday had it on thursday.

You could key it. Any manchine shop could do this, but it will set you back about 50 or so. I would just weld it, and cut it once you get a new axle. I think a used axle and hubs are around 130. Make sure to grease the splines, and get the nut tight, and use the cotter pin when you get a new axle and hubs.

welding it would prolly work alright. then search ebay for some replacement stuff

but give the machine shop a try, they may find an easy fix
