Probably a JE would be your best bet. They are alot more accurate on their compression ratio specs.

I have a wiseco and have no complaints, I think either one will be a good choice though.

i would go with wiseco. they make a good product. for your 416 run XR400 gaskets, it will up the compression. i run a wiseco and XR gaskets in my 416.

Ross or JE. I believe Ross is a few grams lighter. Also, one of the main people from JE went to Ross, so that must say something. Either one you get, make sure you order from C&D!!!!

we have ran them all. if you were planning on getting a shelf piston, i would get the je or ross. i actually ran the ross mostly myself because they are very similar as the je but lighter. you can also get an aftermarket ross piston pin that saves more weight.

if i had to do it all over again, i would be getting something custom. i have no idea who makes custom ones for the 400ex. i am sure some company would custom something up with a smaller dome for a better burn, lighter weight, etc. it would cost you, but i would pay for it.

Or you can get the "thin" cometic from C&D which is actually thinner than the XR gasket.

i know a lot of people bash the wiseco pistons. i am not going to say which piston is built better. i simply wouldn't have a clue. however, a lot of the wisecos are more of a flat top design. the flat top design pistons are superior to the domes, given the compression ratios are the same. i would still find something custom that would have a small dome, is light, and has the proper squish.

They are both good pistons. My weisco 11:1 426 piston weighed 300 grams and I looked at JE 426 11:1 piston on their web site and guess what; it weighs the same.

Alright i think im going to go with a JE, Is there any valves that are better then stock but not as much as Ti valves?
