Is it possible to put 400ex maier race cuts on a 300ex. I dont understand why Maier would make the 300's race cuts so dam ugly and the 400's really nice looking.

well 300ex plastics are ugly from the get go. There have been people to put 400ex plastics on 300ex's before, do a search. I put 250r front plastics on my 300, and it mounted up awesome, you will have to trim it some if you want real good acess to the fuel knob but for racing I just keep it on reserve. If you want a full explination of how to mount them just PM me.

they will fit...lots of trimming and time but it can be done...the seat wont match up and itll look like crap IMO the 300's fronts may look ugly but they match up right

Just do like I did, it'll look a lot better than putting 400 plastics on. Get Maier stock type fronts, and just trim the fenders the way you like them. And maybe add the 250R hood.

Some kid who races quad production class around here put 400ex plastics on his 300. Looks pretty good.

I personally like the way I have them trimmed, and so does everyone else that's seen it up close. I trimmed them based loosely on how my friend's 250R looks with Fullbores and a Quadtech hood. Granted, my hood does hang down a little farther, but I like it better this way.

Here's a pic of the 250R I was talking about.

And here's another shot of the hood on mine from a higher angle. Slightly older, but the only differences are that I cut out the plastic underneath the hood, added a grille, and added the Spy decal. And no, I didn't do more trimming after I took this pic. I left the outer edges of the fender alone between the time I took the pics.
