My friend has a 450r and his axle nut keeps coming loose. He has had it wrapped in black tape and done everything we know how to do besides locktite. How can he get it to stay tight? It's not the axle bearings going out either. I just want it to stay tight through a race so i can prove my 250 is faster.

so are you saying you have tried locktite or not...if not i would go that route first off..then if that dont work..locktite it and tape it...or if you have the money buy a aftermarket one..

Every honda on my block (3 of them) has the same problem. I havent got a solution yet except kepp tightening it or buy an aftermarket.

Make sure the inner nut is all the way tite and put some loc-tite on it let it set up then tape it i've never had a problem with mine but you should check it every ride

i was tol dif you lock tite it you will never get it off so i didnt want to suggest that and it get stuck on there or round off the outside of the nuts when trying to get it off. Maybe we will try that though. What is the best for the 450? I dont know about that part or how much it costs. My 250r's has not come loose yet... lucky me i guess...

Don't use the permanent stuff that takes heat to remove just use the blue stuff

get a aftermarket locknut. once you loosen the stock one you seem to always have problems from then on
