If you do remove it you will have to rejet to a bigger main jet. But you get very good gains from removing the lid. It's one of the first and easiest mods that you can do.

It will run like crap and bog down since there will be so much more air getting sucked in. If your not going to rejet don't take it off.

i did and it didnt do a thing but make it sound better it the bottom end
