What are some of the best products available to turn my YFZ into an XC racer ?? I've decided to set it up for cross country riding , instead of MX racing . I'll need everything from shocks , a-arms , swingarms , protection , etc .

You can see what I have already for the quad in my signature ... I'd like to try and keep what I already have . Thanks .

Axis shocks, if you have the money, buy the new Lonestar setups for a-arms and swingarm/linkage, if not Houser is good, like hardkor said, use PRM for protection, their stuff is bulletproof, definitely use the HiPer wheels you have, just buy Maxxis Razr 2 front tires and rear tires.

wh ybuy axis shocks and put on some other brand of a-arms? Put on axis's a-arms and their shocks. They are matched to work together and that would be the best setup for xc in my opinion. Ask the fastest pro's what they use and you will get the same answer. ;)

I would honestly keep the chassis stock but add elka shocks... also a heavier flywheel to reduce stalling, and increase traction and torque. A rekluse clutch would be sweet too. Other than that, with the obvious addition of a pipe, every XC quad needs handguards, skids and tires. How about a taller seat to replace that peice of plywood covered in rubber :macho

I'm thinking of trading my Hipers ( 8 inch) for larger ones . Whats the best size Hiper to get ??

9 or 10s ??

As far as my seat , I got a seat cover and it came with 1 inch of extra foam ... nice and comfy now . :D

Yeah, definitely get the 9's, you need more tire flex for XC than mx

well, on an 8 inch rim you usually run an 18 or 19 inch tire , so its pretty low profile, but on a 9 inch rim there are more options availible for tire selection, and you usually run 20's or 22's, so you'll get more flex, however, if you get too much flex, like if you run a 22 on an 8 inch rim (i have tried that before) handling is greatly reduced, but you can get more traction. A 9 inch rim for xc is the best size rim to use. Just look at any of the gncc pros, all 9 inch rear rims.
