stock 300ex

i have a all stock 95 300ex and i was looking at the tail pipe and it had two screws in it so i took them out and pulled the center out. i was wondering if that would hurt the machine and if it doesnt does it give more power. is it illegal to ride without it?:devil

You just remover the baffle (aka spark arrester). Go out in the garage, put it on the shelf, and forget where you put it. You won't even notice the increase in noise, and there's a slight gain in power. Barely noticable, but evey little bit helps.

thanks but i think that i need it were i ride. i ride the dnr trails in michigan and it requires you to have a spark arrestor. is there a way that i can cut it so it looks like it is in there but its really not?
