I have dual rate fully adjustable front 400ex axis shocks and i was wondering if i could put them on a 450r

yes u can i run them on my 450R. they work great.

no they wont, the will FIT but they will not perform the way you want them too, a 450R is lighter than a 400ex and the stroke and vavling will be way off..im so suspension expert, but i KNOW this is not a good idea

How about if i get them valved for a 450R?

Depends on which length shock that you're using- stock length is 16" roll lobo setup is better at 16 3/4". Axis for std 450 is 16 1/2"

We used the 16 3/4 without any changes to valving and wasn't too bad on handling. Would do better with current valving setups!

I just have stock length for the 400ex i think so can i just get them valved for a 450R and would they work just as good as on a 400ex or close to as good????

ya i had them valved for a 450r. they are 1/2inch shorter than 450r shocks. but it doesnt affect it enough to notice unless u r A-class top rider.
