Okay, so I'm ready to buy the kit. I was wondering if I'll need additional gaskets or any other supplies and parts. I've heard this kit can be installed by someone with decent mechanical skills and tools. Is this true ? Anything to watch out for ?

Thanks for any replies....

the kit is all enclusive and is easy to install if you have a shop manual. i have one in my quad and it makes incredible power over stock.

You will love your new cam , the stock cam holds it back so much.

you will want a service manual for sure. you need to know the torque specs. you will not need any gaskets but you will more than likely need new shims. heck, my valves were a ways off from the factory.

Is the dealer the best place to get a manual or has someone maybe got a scan of this section ? As far as shims should I get a kit ?

i would recommend the hotcam shim kit. this way you don't need to order shims and then need one size larger or one size smaller, etc. the whole kit is $70. individual shims are like $6 each i think. the kit comes with A TON of sizes and 3 of each particular size. it is well worth it. i ordered my manual from www.rockymountainatv.com

it was around $50 or so

with this writeup you may not actually need the manual. i don't remember. a manual is nice for everything else though. make sure you understand how to change shims and adjust the decompression assembly before you ever take it apart.
