The 4-Strokes are taking over as of now that is until somebody releases one of these enviorment friendly 2-Strokes. There used to be alot of talk about of but it seemed to die out.

Both are great. I believe they both have there purposes though...and that is...

2 STROKES ARE FOR CUTTING GRASS, 4 STROKES ARE FOR HAULING ***!

Haha j/k, I'm kinda opposite of most people.

On my 250r, I could haul *** in the woods. On an MX track, I wasn't that great with it.

On my 426, I can still haul in the woods, just I don't think as fast because there's not that explosivness that a 2 stroke has.
On a 2 stroke, you can creep around a bend and then punch the throttle and take off up a hill because of the powerband. 4 stroke you can do the same, but it'll slowly climb up the hill....catch my drift?

I guess wat it comes down to is, 4 stroke or 2 stroke in the woods for me, 2 stroke I probably prefer more in woods, but either is nice.
And 4 stroke for MX track for me.

I'm like opposite of most people though, but oh well. That's just me.

"Sept. 27 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is adopting strict emissions standards that could mean the end of two-stroke trail bikes and All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) by 2006, the AMA reports"

"In announcing the new emissions standards in September, the EPA said the rules "encourage manufacturers of these vehicles to switch from two-stroke engines to cleaner four-stroke engines, beginning in 2006" for trail machines. "

"Under the new EPA rules, new trail bikes and ATVs would be subject to strict emissions requirements that would be partially phased-in in 2006. Full compliance would be required by the manufacturers in 2007"

2 strokes are dying real soon 2006 is the last year for the banshee which is just sad. they haven't eliminated the dirtbikes yet but theier replacements are already out, but my opinion on which is better is that i love the feel of 2 strokes (hate 4 stroke bikes) 4 strokes for quads are awesome, but i hate to see the 2 strokes dying thats why my favorite saying is in my sig

considering 99% of lawn mowers are 4 stroke and 4 stroke weed eaters are taking over the 2 bout the only thing two strokes have left is sawing logs

kinda makes that statment a little lame :o

the funny thing is that 2 strokes haul a lot more @$$ then 4 strokes

ex1:with dirtbikes 2 stroke 125's run with 250 4 strokes, 2 stroke 250's run with 450 4 strokes (this mean it takes about twice the engine size in a 4 stroke to keep up with a 2 stroke)
ex2: a 350cc Banshee 2 stroke will destroy a 400cc four stroke

4 strokes are like tampons ......every *****'s got one
.nah j/k i have both and i like the 2 stroke power but the 4 stroke is less fatiguing and all around easier to ride...but i can do alot more with the 2 stroke motor and my 250 hauls ***
