A friend let me borrow an 80 for a weekend it was fun to do wheelies n jumps but burms n turning were so hard i lost it in a burm n fell over on a bunch of roots hurt more than any quad wreck i ever had lol

On MX I'd have to agree that the quad is harder but in the rest of the world of riding I'd have to say bikes take more skill. Jeremy McGrath said "bikes don't scare me on a track but quads are different. Those quad guys are nuts".

dumb post, but to proove a point here we go...

Last year at southwick, Jones lap times were about equal with Ricky Carmichals.....At Gatorback, Natalie was faster than any Pro 250 bike....same at Echeconne....

Look at this 211 (38.16 posts per day) That is rediculous honda maniac. B-rad d doesnt have quite as many, but its up there too. Dont post unless it actually serves a purpose, and just because you can post, doesnt mean you have to.

can you, a moddified yfz450 doesnt even stand a chance against a stock 250f btw the new ktm 250f puts out 40 hp with just a pipe and since its like 150 pounds lighter and has waaayyy better supension only quads that stand a chance are outrages hybrids and $h!t

You didn't specify dirt or street bike riders, so I'm getting in on this one.

For anyone who's fallen off in the dirt at relatively low speeds you aint got a clue what a massive get-off is until you've high sided a superbike at twice , or more the speed of a quad, then hit ASPHAULT. I won't even get into having to share the street with drunks, cell phones and all sorts of idiots.

I'm looking foreward to less risk when I finally get a Quad of my own.

B-rad d your an idoit, bikes are much harder to ride and are twice as fast. i used to have a 125 and it was twice as fast as my 400 and faster than any 450 quad that i rode.

Bikes might be harder to turn while just riding around, but on the track, everyone I know that has run a bike and a quad, says the bike is easier on the track. It weighs a lot less than a quad, and is a lot easier to move around. They also say they fatigue way faster on a quad than on a bike. That may be what he is trying to say?

And as for whoever wrote "if u can ride a bike good u will kick *** on a quad"

Not true. Every dirtbike rider I know can't ride a quad worth crap.
My 1 friend is a top local 125 rider and he is not good on any quad at all.

Who cares if dirtbikes are faster and handle differently, you can't really compare the two. It's like apples and oranges.

bike or quad, give it to me and i will romp a bike takes more "touch" if you may once you get over the fear of tipping over and falling just ride em like a bycicle!

yea, my buddies z440 beats my friends kx125, vforce 3's, pc platinum and r304 shorty, uni, and freshly rebuilt before the season.

not flaming - just saying this cuz u didnt think i knew any wheeler that would, unless it was like a crazy hybrid...

dirtbikes are real quick though, my kx85 would kill a warrior 350

i saw your post the first time and i think its awesome that quads are keeping up with the bikes, but bikes are still faster. i think quads keeps up because of corner speed as they can go through turns wide open while bikes cant. personally, i think bikes are harder to get the hang of because of balancing in turns and such. i like both tho and im hoping to get another bike sometime so i can have both:)

My buddy has a 1998 YZ250 with prociruit exhaust, air filter, fresh pro-lite piston, reeds, jetting, and shaved head (runs 110 octane). It's close but I beat him with my 450R (pipe-HRC kit).
Another buddy has a 2000 CR250 with similar mods except he can still run pump gas, he takes me by inches.

fatigue def. sets in faster on a bike, not a quad, think about it on a bike your always moving all over the place, yeah you move a lil on a quad too but not as much as a bike, its kinda how the guys in motocross magazine say a quad is like riding a really fast couch

I only have one thing to say to all the people that say thier quads will outrun a bike. Bullchit:rolleyes: . There is no way that a quad is going to outrun a bike unless the guy riding bike doesn't know how to ride. The power to weight ratio is just too great on a bike compared to a quad.

Ok, I just remember talking to two guys that had raced dirt bikes for years, and they tried racing quads. They both commented on how they fatigued way more with the quad.

agreed! a 125 2-stroke bike makes around 29-30 horsepower and is about 200 pounds! the guy that says he beat a 250 with his 450r, you are either making chit up or the guy on the bike has no idea what hes doin

You are exactly right. Yes they have more corner speed, that doesnt mean crap, they are still putting out the same or better laptimes.
