can you bore a stock clyinder to 265? if so is it relaible? im new to 250r motors.. my buddy got one and we are goin to rebuild it and are thinkin about boring it out. what are some different dispalcements that you can get out of the stock cyl.? if anyone has the stock bore size (in millimeters) and the measure of other popular sizes on the stock cyl. we would really apreciate it.

thanks

Yeah, you can bore the stock cylinder to a 265. My last cylinder was, but be prepaired to drop some coin if you score the cylinder, because you'll have to get it resleeved.

Put a stroker crank in it, and bore it out to .030 or .040. I'm not shure what the displacement will be though.

thanks for the info..... i dont think he wants to spend the cash for a stroker crank though

we will probably end up punching it out to a 265... does anyone know the measure of that bore?

mine was a 265cc 68.5mm or 2.50mm over bore
a 261cc which i do believe is the farthest you can punch a 87-89 is 68mm and 2.00mm overbore and both of those are with a stock 72mm stroke

300exQuadracer, do you have a pic of your 6" shorty silencer?

The biggest you can punch a stocker out is 68.5mm. I have one being put together as we speak. You have to use the wiseco racers choice pistons. They're the best I've run so far. The boost port has been wacked off. Cut more like a half circle, when ported to handle the extra flow it'll rip!!!!
