Are there any small trucks that my ex will fit into it? Its set up for mx, so its 50 inches wide. I have about 8 months until I turn 16, but I would like to have an idea of what I want. It would be nice to have a truck that I could haul my fourwheeler around in. It also cant be a gas guzzler, which is hard to find with trucks. I am sure a lot of you have gone through this before finding a truck to haul the toys. Thanks, Matt

I don't think you're going to find the truck you're looking for. Usually with trucks you have to give up some things that you want, like gas mileage for size. My parents forced me to get a 4 cylinder Sonoma so I'd get good gas mileage, but it gets only 2 mpg better than our Bravada (4.3 Vortec AWD).

Do a search on all the major trucks out there and look up the dimensions of the bed, or else get your parents to bring you out looking for trucks and measure the bed to see if it will fit. But I'm sure a 50" wide quad can fit in the back of any full sized truck, so I'd recommend going with a Dodge Ram 1500 2wd. A friend of mine drives one, extended cab, very nice truck and he gets about 18mpg. That seems like great gas mileage, and I believe it has a 360 in it?

Yea but he wanted a truck that his quad will fit in. My 400ex was a squeeze in my Sonoma (same thing as S10).

I'd recommend going with a bigger truck.

what year is your bravada? our 03' has a 4.3 vortec awd and it only gets 16 mpg...but then again 03' is when they made it a straight six with 285 hp...

It's a '94. I've read that the 94's were the most powerful years of the 4.3 Vortec's. Until '03 at least when they made it a straight six, which I didn't know they did.

I couldn't be happier with my 4.3L S10, handles good, good mpg, looks good, relatively cheap, and pretty reliable.I had a 94 S10 4.3 before I got this 99 and it didn't have **** for power compared to this 99 and my 99 is an automatic  . My stock width 400ex fits right in the bed with some room on both sides of the tires, I don't really think that you would have a hard time getting your quad to fit. Here's my old 94 with my 400 in th e back

i think the best thing to do is buy something like an s-10, ranger, or dakota. no you probably wont be able to fit your quad in the bed but you can get a nice trailer for under $300. im in the same spot as you im turning 16 in a few months and im lookin for a truck. i dont want a big truck with bad gas mileage. i ve been lookin mostly a dakotas they are a little bigger than s-10s and rangers so its possible your quad could fit in one. find one and measure the bed.

Some of you guys have to remember im not made of money. Im already in debt to my dad for my new fourwheeler. I cant spend a ton of money here. I would like to keep this relatively cheap. The trailer idea isnt so bad, I guess I will just have to do some measuring. I'll also see what my dad thinks. I have never checked out dakotas before, maybe I will look into them.

my 400ex fits in the back of my mom '01 dakota with room to spare between the wheel wells. i think you quad would fit in an s10 but youll have to lift it over the wheel wells. my s10 has a 4.3 and is a 4x4 and got 18.5 mpg.

I have a 95 ranger...my 300ex fits in it good but i have to pick it up over the wheel wheels but that isnt to bad...plus i have the 400ex front end which makes it +2...a reg 300ex will fit perfectly inbetween the wheelwells in my truck but with a step side it might be diff...and its not that bad on gas either

Best bet is to buy a trailer and pull it. It'll be hard to find a small truck that will fit a race quad ( 50inch) . Actually I think if my quad would be 50 inches , it would be a tight squeeze into the back of my dad's Dodge Ram 4x4 . I'm sure you could pick up a nice open trailer for a few hundred dollars ... heck you can even tow a trailer with a car if you had to . With the price of gas , I'm considering giving up on buying a truck and just buy a trailer and hitch for my Sunfire .

I had a 400EX with +2+2 axle (49.5 inches) that would fit in my S15. They are pretty reliable trucks with enough power and fair Mileage/PG...

with a sonoma a stock 400ex fits fine inbetween the wheel wells, 50" might be a squeez but it'll fit better than in a ranger, i've tried both, but dont be stupid like me and buy a flareside, cause liftin over the tail gate is a b****

Have you ever put a 400ex in the back of a Sonoma? It does not fit fine between the wheel wells. Before my YFZ I had a 400ex and I had to lift them over the wheel wells, and now with my YFZ I have to do the same. I really wish I had a bigger truck. It's a pain to have to load the quad in by yourself, or even with two people.
