curtis sparks ignition advance key

does anyone have one of these in thier bikes?? i got one on order now shoould be in the end of th week. any input on these?

i hear it adds. 2 hp... never used one since i have a white bros rev box. its a simple mod... let me now if you feel a change with power. after you install it.

whats the deal with them, i thought they dont work well with modified motors or somthin:confused:

ya. no good in motors with bore or high comp piston.

Ive never herd of an ignition key giving a 2hp gain, that is as much as a full system and a filter. Ive herd it gives some torque and throttle response. Ive also herd it will cause the motor to run hotter.

with the high comp it will detionate easy.

I am not 100% on why not on a bore. maby just because you always go high comp with a bore... I dono.

SRP +6 deg key. true on no stock engine it wont work. on stock engines with slip-on mufflers. air filter and jet kit. it will work
just installing it on a bone stock engine they state 2hp gain.
will not work with rev box though. since a rev box changes the ign curve. it a deg key is used it could cause problems.

you can run them on high comp motors it just makes it run hotter, if you run air scoops, and a cooler plug you will be fine

i talked with tom carlson aboput this before i built my motor. he said that if you had any mods to motor, i told him i wanted one of his 416's he said i would have to run 110 octane all the time and the power increase would be minimal.

www.srpmetals.com all company's will tell you about a power gain that is really not realistic because they are trying to sell you a product. LRD claims like a 4hp increase in power with their full system on the 400 and anybody that has done their research on exhausts with dyno charts will know that no exhaust for the ex will give a 4 hp gain. maybe 2hp max with a filter.

i have delt with some major exhaust companys with sport bikes. one company i deal with the most states 9 hp gain on a 600cc bike. this gain. is not by just bolting it on. its a max gain that you can get with tuning the fuel injection and other mods. true most companys lie about power gains so you will buy there parts.
