Not to step on anyones toes, but a 250ex is a better wheelie machine than a 400ex. Not having to use a clutch is definately not a downfall.

When I had my 250ex, I could wheelie it until I got bored of it. It takes alot more skill and practice to get used to doing everything I did on the 250, on the KFX. The only thing a bigger engine will prevail in is speed wheelies, since a 250 can only go 2/3rds the speed of a 400. Plus, it was just more fun to do it on the 250. Not having to worry about the clutch let me enjoy walk wheelies to the fullest

thats personal preference but everyone else will agree thats the 400ex is the best wheelie quad...then the 300ex...ive never even heard anyone mention a 250ex

That is true... but i've ridden a 400ex, and a 300ex, and IMO the only reason why people say a 400 (never heard someone say a 300 was a good wheelie machine) wheelies good is because thats what they read, and I guess that makes it look too easy not having a clutch like a 250ex when stunting. It's true that having a clutchless tranny helps keep it easier to wheelie in all circumstances, but as far as needing to have a clutch & a big engine to be a good stunt bike - false.

The only thing wrong with my 250 when stunting was the overflow would run all over the pavement.

im going to have to say 300ex....rode my buddies one day when he was riding his other quad....within a few hours i could wheely it for a quarter of a mile easy....our 400 just had to much snap to do them for me...but yeah after you rode one for a while theyd both be easy:chinese:

One advantage with the 250ex is thoe u have a handbreak that controls the rear break cause u see how he doesnt have his foot on the rear break he has it on the shifter side. So unless you are going 1 handed u can use the hand break. Yea nice job on the wheelies they were fun wen i had my 250.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but I totally disagree.

As far as regular "run-of-the-mill" wheelies go, I'm sure the 250ex is just fine, but when you really start to get into advanced tricks, the added power of the 400ex, and the fact it has a manual clutch are both advantages.

There are several tricks that I can think of right off the top of my head that a 250ex is just not capable of without some SERIOUS modifications.

Maybe if you were to give a beginner both quads and tell them to learn wheelies, they would probably be more comfortable on the 250, just because it is smaller and lighter, and I guess because they don't have to worry about stalling it, but give an advanced or intermediate rider the choice of the two quads and I bet 9 out of 10 (if not 99 out of 100) would choose the 400ex or Z400.

Just my thoughts. As I said, I am not saying you are wrong...simply just disagreeing.

Ps....Nice pictures hondaexrider. And for the record, I believe that a Z400 is a better stunt quad than a 400ex.

yea its fun on the recon.... its very easy now with those new tires.... but unfortunately i cant even ride it right now cus the transmission is goin bad(its very hard to shift, and a bad noise is comin from a around the transmission pump so transmission failure is probable cause.. hopefully it wont cost to much cus im tryin to save and buy a 400ex

out of every quad i've ever ridden, the 250EX is probably the best to wheelie on, IMO. you can do so much more without focusing on a clutch. however, i do like my 450R's wheelie capabilities :macho
