octane boost...yes or no?

I have a 500ex as most of you know, with all the goodies...well I want to start racing and I was just wandering if octane boost is worth the money or not? I know it's not the best for the engine but it's not that bad right?...I only have 11:1 compression and race gas is not in the budget it's way to much money...but ocatne boost is alot less...I know it's not as good as race gas but anything helps right lol

so what do you think?

Dont bother, it shouldn't have any problems running just regular 93. Thats what I run with no problems.

octane boost only raises the octanes a little with each bottl, when thaey sau its adds 15 points its really only 1.5 octanes you would be waaaaay better of with oxeygenated gas

11:1 you should be fine. If you ping go 1 size richer on your main, if that dont work get some race fuel and mix it 25% race 75% pump. A very cheap solution. But, in all honesty at 11:1 you should not have to do that.

no no...sorry about that guys...I meant for more power not cause of the compression...I have no problem with running supreme ( 93) gas...i am just looking for a little more power, and not with race gas it's to much money

well its not worth it like i said even if you use a whole bottl on on of your tanks it will only raise the gas maybe 2 or 3 octanes

Yeah its not going to raise your power at all. And its gonna add additives into your engine that you dont want.

If your engine isn't spark knocking with super unleaded you are just throwing money away adding octane booster.

throwing a moth ball in the gas tank will do the same as putting octane booster in it. i just don't know if it will harm the engine anymore than octane booster.

ok you will NOT get more power with higher octane gas. Only run it if your engine is experiencing detonation. Compression gives you more power, race gas just lets you run more compression without detonation. In fact running higher octane then necessary will just make your quad harder to start, because it combusts at a higher temperature.

Yup it's an old Redneck trick that was used in the 70's to get the high compression 60's vehicles to run on unleaded fuel.

Wouldn't reccomend it on a 3gal tank. No margin for error.

haha wanna talk about high octane boost.. my buddy has a old blaster and he doesnt know any better and it dumb-founded when it comes to wheelers so one day i took his front fenders off, the whole silencer off, air box lid off and air, filter. LOL i told him to try it out and tell me how it went, so he took it up the road and barly missed a head-on with a car. He said that it was faster but wanted it FASTER.....SOoOOo i took some Nitro Fuel that you put in those little remote-control airplains and poored some of that in his gas, i also happend to have a Mountian Dew in my hand so im like Dude Mountian Dew makes you gain 12 more HP and i poored that in to. It Ran like a champ and the Nitro Fuel did work. HAHAHA:blah:

ive got one of those nitro r/c cars.. thats some strong chit..... i sniffed it for like 5 seconds straight for the hell of it and i wus messed up for a few days..... ask 2002400ex he knows what it'll do to ya:blah:
