lmao

well i just ordered a g force for my 450r and one of the grooves was not machined properly. i am sending it back now. unfortunatly rockymountain made me pay for the shipping. what pisses me off is this axle is brand new. i didn't even ride it. of course, i got it all installed, greased, put locktite on the locknuts, etc and the hubs won't go on one side. then i had to remove everything. they won't send me a new one until they "check it out" and confirm it is a manufacture defect. my bike is down longer now.....

i (personally) would stay away from the durablue. nearly everyone who runs those will have problems, unless you are easy on your bike. g force seems like it has one of the better warranties so i will try it out. if i don't like it, i am only out $200

07-14-2005, 06:46 PM
I bent 2 dura Blues. Stay away from those pieces of S#*t!!!!! G-Force, goodlooking, affordable and at 200 bucks its half the price of the competion. Not saying it wont bend, but if you race you would be buying the best, not th best deal.

get a rpm.... its more expensive but you get what you pay for remember this. I just smoked a RAD carrier , nothing against RAD everybody I know are running RAD carriers without problems, I probably got a lemon... anyway with the RPM you can replace the sproket hub seal surface, thats something other axle manufacturers cant say unfortunatly. Im telling this to you because the seal surface Im talking about was trully toasted to my wheel bearing, it welded to the bearing !! so I just ordered a new on for about 13$ from RPM.

and the axle is sick it went through a full season last year and no problems, this year too , this one is holding up a lot more abuse than my friends LSR'S .

cals400ex
07-15-2005, 12:38 PM
i have seen rpms break as well. no doubt the rpm is probably better than the g force. however, i got the g force because i am mainly a weekend warrier. i don't hit Massive jumps or anything like that. heck, i don't even race unless it is just messing around. the problem i have with rpm is that if something goes wrong, they cry about fixing it. they don't want to help you out a lot. the problem i have with lsr is their aluminum hubs. they will go out over time. i realize both axles themselves are probably better quality than the g force but the price was a lot higher and g force will replace their axles if they break OR bend. also, i do a lot of dragging and i have been told the rpm is pretty heavy. the g force is no doubt heavier than stock but i figure i want to save all the weight i can.

sampleez
07-15-2005, 11:13 PM
i got my lsr for $330. and pappy said he's got a few lsr's through C&D for the same price.

i just don't know about the "g,g,g,g,g,g g-unit" :D axles. they seem to be hit and miss on getting a good one. for example, i know two people with em. one on a raptor, other on a 450r. the one with the raptor landed a little sideways on a tiny jump and it bent the crap outta it. but the one on the R hasn't had any probs.

i know it's cliche, but ya get what ya pay for.........so i'd go ahead and get a lsr or rpm if you do much jumping

I have had my g force on my yfz for about 2 months and have had no problems at all and it has about 6 motocross races on it. I Bent my stock axel my first race and hvae not bent this one yet i have also destroyed 2 douglas rims on the rear with this axle from landing sideways and not a single problem along with being hit from the rear multiple times. All in all i woold say its an excellent axle if you are on a budget and as for warranty i hope i dont have to use it

They seem like a good axle. A few weeks ago, I saw a Durablue snap clean off on a 450r at the track during practice. The kid was landing the finish line tabletop when it happened...

Dirtwheels has claimed to beat on there GForce pretty good and they haven't had any problems supposivley.

Did anyone get their G Force and the sprocket hub was loose on the splines a bit? I have a bit of slop on mine. I also had this problem on my Durablue HD and changed the hubs twice. That's why I figured I'd try this one! Does the stocker Hub's have metal splines?

Which Durablues did you guys run that have bent and broken them?

I dont know anyone personally that have bent or broken a Durablue Eliminator. I've been running my Eliminator for 6-7 years without issue. (I dont race motocross though. I ran MHSC XC on it for several years)

I've heard of a lot of the crappy x-33's breaking. They are made to be light, not strong.

And. the Heavy Duty's are nothing more than a stock replacement made with mild steel.

More curiosity than anything.

I won't deny that LSR and RPM are 10x better though. ;)

I've also heard good things about the G-Force for your typical rider.

EXevan91
03-05-2006, 05:44 PM
well iam sorry to say but i need a new axle and cairrer ... adn i wsa looking at the g-force because it half the price of the other and the warrenty and u guys say for the typical rider the g-force is good now i dont consider my self typical cuz i ride real hard adn i jump almost any thing that looks like i wont die from.

and iam not going to spend $400 on an axle unlees the guy comes to my house and switches it in and out if i break it.

well then u get what yo pay for remember that!! ive had lonestars in both my quads and still do. broke the one in myy 440 a week before a trip, lonestar had my new one to me in 3 days!!!
great people to deal with....its all personal preference, and everyones going to give you there own opinion.

Rip_Tear
03-05-2006, 06:08 PM
Of course the people with these axles will find out and tell us at some point, but the case of getting what you pay for and getting ripped can be a different story. Not saying that Dura Blue, RPM etc are rip offs, but you wouldn't believe how much we are getting charged over the actual cost in these products. The only reason these axles should/could have a problem with them being warrentied is that if they have been actuall misused or heated.

Let us know how the G-force works out.

my buddy bought a g force axle for his z 400 he put it througha full season of hard mx racing and had no problems at all. I think it is worth the money. I had another buddy bend his lonestar axle on his 450r

hoser 400ex
03-05-2006, 09:03 PM
yes they are good for the money. the only trouble my brother had after a year of abuse is the finish starting to peel off. and he sending it back now because its bent. but they all will break or bend no matter what brand.......

wheeltrax
03-05-2006, 09:23 PM
about the g force snapping on the raptor, it was most likely due to the short swingarm on them. I was riding with 2 raptors about 2 years ago and they landed crooked off a jump, not a big one, and both snapped the axles. I heard it was a common problem on the raptors.

I've also heard good things about the G-Force for your typical rider. Here you go. I bent it after 2 weeks, sent it off.took 2 full months to get it back.Installed and rode it for less than an hour and it snapped hittin my 40' double,it was only kickin you up to about 15 ' at the time.I hit the ramp at the end,but on the ramp. I had a g-force before that,it only lasted about an hour before it bent and didnt spring back. These axles are bending all the time, its just if you go to far they dont go back. All axles are heat treated after machining to obtain a specific hardness.they must be heated at a certain rate to a certain temp.and held there for a specifec amount of time before they are cooled off (wheather by oil, water, air, refregeration or any other method)at a certian rate.If you alter any of these things you change the properties of the end product.too soft and it bends, too hard and it breaks. So the way I see it ,all of it comes down to customer service. From what I have heard, and after calling them to ask about how they handled warranty concerns,I have decided to buy a lonestar. When I get my durablue back I will sell it. My advice is to never be without a straight axle to throw in as you are pulling out your bent or broken one. I took my bent stocker to the press an using a dial indicator,a lot of screwing around and about an hours time.I had it straight to within .004 on one side and .005 on the other. just my opinion
