ok guys help me out my carb has been actin funny ever since i took it out. i had to take out my carb and clean it out after som bad gas so i put it back on and if i hit the as hard from idle it jus shuts off like its gaspin for gas. it runs fine it you slowly get on the gas from idle, and you can punch it if your over 3000 rpms i think the accellortor pump is messed up how do i fix it

Try to clean it again, take the jets out fuel screw out ect.. spray carb cleaner in them and the circuits. this should help.

after you spray cleaner in all the jets and little holes i know its nasty but you hve to blow threw them to make sure it still isnt clogged, i was cleanin a carb off of a 3 wheeler once and i spent all day just tring to uncloged whatever the f got in the piolet jet

did you remove any of the jets or just spray in them? its alright if you just sprayed in them. i just want to make sure you didn't remove any and a piece could have fallen out that you didn't see. did you put in the little plastic piece back in that rests over the mainjet?

this thread shows the stock carb. take off the screws holding # 17 on and clean the pieces. there isn't much to it. this is the accel. pump

i removed the choke and filled in wear ths shaft went with J-B weld and then smoothed out the bell of the carb, by removing all the rough edges.. then just tuned the jetting.

sounds like even though you cleaned it its still clogged, go cut a pice of wire off a steel brush and stick it up in there thatll get it out :D

so the fuel line is hooked up to the carb i assume? you may need to hold the throttle lever in for a few seconds too. if it isn't shooting gas, something is wrong. i would clean out the hole that the gas shoots from. i am assuming the accel pump is installed properly and it appears that everything is in good shape?

i finnaly got the thing workin it was the brass tube that the gas squrits out of that was clogedi finnaly just let the compresser get up to 150 psi and blew the tube out and some how a flies wing had got in the tube dont ask me how.but apparently that wasnt the only thing wrong with it it made my situaton better but it still is wanting to shut off when you go from idle to wide open i took out the choke to today and kept the 40 jet in it .i keep my 400 in the garage and its always heated in the winter so im not worried about starting it but anymore info would be greatly appreciated.

you definately won't want to be in the 2nd from the top on the needle clip. that is a leaner position than stock. the stock position is the middle groove. most run it in this groove or one down from here.
