Has anyone here had any problems with their magnum camshafts? I have the model that is a webcam copy of the 479. I could be wrong but it seems as though when I turn the motor over by hand, when it goes to lift the intake rockers it is pushing to far and making them hit the roof(rocker cover) and will not turn all the way over. Puzzled.

Somethings not installed right theres no way rocker arms could be touchin the top of the cam cover.

believe me I thought it strange too but when I popped the rocker cover off there was an indentation from where one of the rockers hit and it took a chip off one of the rockers.

If its a copy of the 479 it may need shorter valve guides. The 479 has a lot of lift.

Thanks Fulk, not sure if that's the problem but alot of people I've talked to including Colby say that webcams and them say shortended guides to cover their behinds. Just stumped. dont see any marks on the piston from valves hitting or anything but I'll probably give the clay trick a whirl.

It may or not be the problem i'm just throwing an idea out there. :)

Once you get it figured out you will like the cam.

Some high lift cams will need the rocker cover relieved to clear the rockers! Lay the camshaft in the cover and rotate it to check clearance- will at least need the compression arm ground off of the exhaust rocker.

are you serious? I've never heard that one before. Because I do really think that the problem is up top and like I said I broke a piece of my brand new rockers arm. the one that has the oil flapper or whaterver.
