I have heard that if you get wheelspacers on only the front then it will make it handle worse. Is this true. I'm not racing mx, i'm only riding on trails. How would it handle worse. To me that seems wierd. Also, would my brakes be sticking out to much that they would get hit by something and break?

when u would go into a corner, or a turn your quad would get tipsy and teeter, get backs if ur gonna get anything, and depends on how much wider u go, but most likely ur brakes will stick out

I would get 1.5 in spacers. Why would it be tippier if it's wider? I don't want to get them on the back because I don't want to bend an axle.

because the geometry is messed up, most quads r the same width front and rear, in some cases the rear is an inch or half inch wider, but the front in most cases is not wider then the rear. just trust me do u see any racers of anykind with quads wider in the front then in the rear. nope

how big of jumps do you hit. My friend took 2-3 yrs. and 25 ft. or so doubles to bend his. And it bent his rims also. So it takes a while to bend your axle.

when i had them on my 250 it didnt make it handle worse. it handled about the same but it made it so much more stable. i had 3 inches on the front and stock width on the back. i just really leaned alot and it did great, i had no complaints. i rode all trails and some sand flats and jumps no higher than 4 feet off the ground.

you callin me a kid 450R51? i didnt say it was a good idea to put them on, but it isnt a terrible idea. It seriously did take my friend about 3 yrs. and 20-25 ft. doubles to bend his axle. He had extended a-arms so he didnt break any thing b/c he didnt have is fronts that long. But, he was riding a honda, so thats prob. why it held up so long. And for the one wanting them in the front, yes, it does seem to make it handle worse. And it easier to bend a tierod, beleive me, ive done it plenty of times. Id do what you want, and just go do what you think you should. And dont worry about what other people say.

k,lol. i didnt wanna sound mean or ne thing with that reply. i just didnt know who all you were talkin about. But yea, I personally liked how well the stock 250EX handles, the turning radius on those things is kick *****. It can turn alot sharper than my 300EX. And with those spacers on the front, the only thing i noticed was a lil more touchy steering. Im not gonna say bumpsteer b/c i honestley dont know what it is. Id just get them for the rear.

I don't understand your thoughts on a wider front end being "tippier", all quads i've ever dealt with(usually full on race quads) are either the same width front and back, or WIDER in the front, and they all handled awsome. Never Tippy:ermm:

Maybe because the extra leverage of the wider front end causes the shocks to be much softer, and dive when cornering, causing body roll? Is that what your saying?

my first quad and still have it today set up like this is a 250ex. I have 2inch stud exteneders on all four hubs. I bent my axle once but was really getting crazy on it and over jumped the landing and flat landed with all my weight (210 ls) comming down on the left rear. I bought the quad brand new in 2001 and put those on there 2months after buying it. you get a little more bump steer but you can drive it into corners harder because of it being more stable. It is a good idea for the cost. Also I saw a few months back on ebay some guy had a conversion kit to extend the front arms way out and then bolt up 400ex or 450r shocks. The kit looked a lot like the LT80 arm kit.

Sorry so long but go for it you'll like it

u sure man cuz when u come flying into a corner with ur front end being 2inches wider on each side and then slide the back end around, cant u see it being tipsy cuz of the lack of length in the back, and no most racers do not run it wider in the front then in the rear, u want it wider in the rear so its easier to corner and slide around it.

i have the two inch extenders on all four corners not just the fronts. If you only had enough money to get spacers I would def get them for the back not front.

Well, it must be different for you east coasters, because out of EVERYBODY I have seen out here on the west coast(from Glamis to Idaho) NOBODY runs the rear end wider then the front. Not trying to be an as$, but thats the way it is

dude ur wrong, they try to make them the same front and rear and if nething the rear is only alittle bit wider, look at the pro bikes all of them r the same width front and rear.

Yeah, same front and rear. But NOT wider in the rear.

I didn't say anything about not running it the same width. The same width is fine, but not wider in the rear.

Maybe having a standard travel front end instead of long travel changes peoples opinion of that
