i looked at a 01 to do at the local honda shop. they wanted 2900 for it. there was some rust i dont think the frame is bent but is for sure cracked. from what i could see was it had razors on the front holeshotes on the back, tag bars lrd pipe nad ac bumper and nerfs dont know abot the motor. my question is do you think i should offer for it.

if the frame was cracked i would talk them down on the price. you should be able to get it cheaper if u show the cash though.

Don't mess w/ a cracked frame ,unless it's not a critical area and you're a decent welder.There are plenty of ex's out there for this price,a decent shape 4oo is pretty much bulletproof.

are you sure the frame is cracked? because on alot of bikes the paint will chip off at the welds in certain places and then rust. it might look like it is cracked but it might not be. like with the 400exs they are painted not PCed so when there is stress at the welds it just chips off. it might not be cracked. but still 2900 isnt a great price look around i know around me you can pick up 400exs all day for 2500 or less. theres one right down the road from me for only 2000 and its clean, just rebuilt. theres better deals out there keep lookin

Buy from an individual, not a delear, and you will save a few hundred on the price. they jack the prices up on all bikes.

And don't forget the so called Dealer "Prep Fee"!It's around a 1000!

Im sure they would want to charge him so rediculous amount for welding the frame, like most dealerships do... There are lots of nice 400ex's out there, just keep watching.

I would even mess with it. You can find very nice 400ex's from private sellers and still pay about the same if not less.
